Trinity Episcopal School seeks an experienced, dedicated Preschool Director to lead our vibrant early childhood program and inspire a life-long love of learning. This leadership role is for an educator who can continue to shape our warm, nurturing environment where families and children thrive. Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. While the preschool operates partial day hours, the Director is expected to work full time to support staff, families, planning, administration, and year-round responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

Detailed Job Description: Preschool Director
The Preschool Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and daily operation of the church’s preschool program serving approximately 100 students and supervising a staff of about 20 teachers. Although the preschool operates on a partial day schedule, this is a full-time position requiring year-round planning, staff management, regulatory compliance, family communication, and coordination with the school board and the church Rector. The Director sets the tone for a nurturing, safe, and faith-centered learning environment while ensuring operational excellence and strong relationships with families and staff.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate preschool teachers and support staff
- Provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance feedback
- Create and manage staff schedules, classroom assignments, and coverage needs
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-aligned team culture
- Address staff concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary issues as needed
Program Oversight
- Ensure a developmentally appropriate, high-quality early childhood program aligned with the church’s values and philosophy
- Oversee curriculum implementation and classroom standards
- Maintain consistent routines, policies, and expectations across classrooms
- Support teachers in classroom management and instructional best practices
- Work to continue implementation of Episcopal Identity in the school and individual classrooms
- Maintain accreditation through the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools
Student and Family Relations
- Maintain an active presence on campus; visiting classes, talking with parents, engaging students
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families
- Oversee enrollment, admissions, financial aid and onboarding of new families
- Address parent questions, concerns, and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate family communication, events, and community building activities
Operations and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Maintain required records, documentation, and reports
- Oversee daily operations including attendance, incident reporting, and facility use
- Coordinate with church staff on space usage, security, shared resources, and mutual financial responsibilities
- Manage preschool calendar, closures, and special programs
Administration and Planning
- Develop and manage the preschool budget in coordination with the school board
- Monitor tuition collection and financial processes as applicable
- Participate in strategic planning for program growth and improvement
- Prepare reports and updates for church leadership or governing bodies
- Plan for staffing, enrollment cycles, and long-term program needs
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements and best practices in preschool operations
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism in a busy environment
